This kit provides a simple and rapid method for the purification of DNA fragments from agarose gel. It is also well-suited for desalting, as well as the removal of residual organic solvents or unincorporated nucleotides or primers (<40 mer) from reaction mixtures containing DNA. The kit utilizes a spin column technologywhich selectively absorbs up to 20ug of DNA fragments in the presence of specialized binding buffers. Nucleotideso, enzymes, mineral oil and other impurities do not bind to the column and are eliminated. DNA fragments can be eluted readily in elution buffer and used for DNA sequencing, restriction digestion and other downstream applications. Recovering yield ranged from 60 to 80%. No phenol/ chloroform extraction or ethanol precipitation is required.
